Mission Central

Mission Central collage

The Mission Central Warehouse has been in operation in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania since 2002, providing low cost/no cost warehouse space to assist nonprofit organizations as well as providing our own resources to over 175 nonprofit partners through multiple humanitarian aid programs.

Through the generous grant of the Josiah W. and Bessie H. Kline Foundation in 2024, we have been able to assist 13 nonprofit in-house warehouse partners, including four full-time partners, to maintain their organizations which in turn provide food, furniture and household items, diapers, and computers and laptops to those most in need. Our four full-time partners include:

  • The Bethesda Mission Food bank which serves an average of 546,000 people per month with over $1.3 million in food
  • New Digs Ministry which provides furniture and household goods to over 1,000 people a year, including veterans, individuals exiting drug rehabilitation programs, survivors of domestic violence, single mothers and caregivers, and low-income individuals.
  • Healthy Steps Diaper Bank which resourced over 3.75 million diapers since 2013 to other organizations/agencies
  • The Computer Ministry has provided over $300,000 in laptop and desktop computers so far in 2024 and has resourced over 35,000 refurbished desktop and laptop computers in two decades.

Through this funding, we have also been able to assist 13,642 students with $107,131 in resources through our School Program as well as almost $6,000 in school supplies to nonprofit partner agencies which went to assist 1,854 children through September 2024.

Through our School Program, Mission Central partners with liaisons in local school districts who identify children and youth living at or below the poverty line and connect them with the resources and supports we have available. These resources extend far beyond just school supplies. When a child doesn’t have basic necessities like hygiene supplies, socks, coats and deodorant, they are already at an academic disadvantage to their peers. These three examples illustrate the impact of the program:

  • Northeastern School District received over 900 children’s books which allowed students in grades K-3 to take home two books each to keep. Some of these students have never owned their own book.
  • Saint Miriam Parish & School received schools desks and chairs for a new classroom that would be opening in the fall.
  • Phineas Davis PK-8 School in the York City School District received shoes and Feminine Hygiene Kits which they distributed to students and families at their Back to School night.

The mission of our organization is to connect God’s resources with human need and through our partnership with the Kline Foundation, we have been able to accomplish this and impact communities in our neighborhoods and beyond. Thank you, Kline Foundation, for being an integral part in helping those in need!
